ISAme1 is 49% aa similar to IS231O. ISAme1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISPa12 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-70-D(N3)-134-E(C1). The sequencing of the Alkaliphilus metalliredigenes QYMF chromosome is currently in progress. Accession number: NZ_AAKU00000000.
